Taxon:

Mouse

Gene:

Trappc9

Chromosome:

15

Location:

D3

Description:

Trappc9 (trafficking protein particle complex 9) was highly expressed in the postnatal mouse brain. In the brain Trappc9 was expressed 70% from the maternal allele with 30% from paternal allele, whereas other tissues showed equal allelic expression (Liang ZS et al, 2020). Homozygous mutant mice showed a reduction in brain size, exploratory activity and social memory, as well as a marked increase in body weight. Heterozygous mice lacking the maternal allele (70% reduced expression) had pathology similar to homozygous mutants, whereas mice lacking the paternal allele (30% reduction) were phenotypically normal.
