Casd1 (CAS1 domain containing 1) showed slightly biased (60%) maternally expression in C57Bl/6J x
CAST/EiJ whole embryos (Babak T et al,
RNA-seq studies from Okae H et al (2012)
also showed baised (67%) maternal expression of Casd1 in E13.5 placenta.
In humans, CASD1 showed biallelic expression in first trimester and term placentas, and in fetal
tissues (Monk D et al, 2008).
Casd1 shows one of the lowest parental biases of any putative imprinted genes. The concordance
between the two reports is useful, but additional data would be helpful.
