Blcap (bladder cancer associated protein homolog) showed preferential maternal expression in the
brain, but no evidence of imprinting was present in placenta, testis, heart, lung, liver and
skeletal muscle tissue. The authors proposed that the tissue-specific imprinting of Blcap is due to
the particularly high transcriptional activity of Nnat in brain, a known imprinted gene (Schulz
R et al, 2009).
However, Okae H et al, (2012) confrimed
bialleic expression of Blcap in placenta.
