PHLDA2 (IPL [imprinted in placenta and liver], TSSC3, pleckstrin homology-like domain, family A,
member 2) shows preferential maternal expression
in pig (Bischoff SR et al, 2009), as observed
in mice and
humans. By quantitative allelic pyrosequencing the paternal allele contributed 10-30% of the
expression in the placenta (Bischoff
SR et al, 2009).
PHLDA2 is shown to have variable imprinting status in different developmental stages.The gene is
maternally expressed in 1- dayold newborns but the imprinting is lost in 180-day-old- adullt
(expressed from both paternal alleles) (Hou
S et al, 2009).
