H13 (Histocompatibility 13, SPP), is imprinted and expressed exclusively from the maternal allele in
newborn brain. It is preferentially maternally expressed in E13.5 embryo and placenta (Wood
AJ et al, 2007).
Wood A.J et al showed the presence of alternative polyadenylation sites separated by a
differentially methylated CpG island. The alternative polyadenylation sites are utilized in an
allele-specific manner depending on the methylation status of the allele ( 2008).
Wang X et al, (2011) provided
evidence for preferential maternal expression of H13 in E17.5 placenta.
