IGF2R (insulin-like growth factor 2 receptor) is monoallelically expressed in fetal cows (the number
of animals studied was not
reported) and was assumed to be imprinted (Killian
JK et al, 2001).
Predominantly maternal expression in all fetal tissues except brain was demonstrated by Bebbere D et al (2013).
DMR analysis of the gene showed 4% methylation in sperm and 46.9% methylation in liver consistent
with imprinting of the gene and maternal silencing. Bisulphite clones harbouring both fully
methylated and fully unmethylated sequences were present for IGR2R (O'Doherty AM et al, 2011).
