Rabbit

NNAT

Description:

NNAT (neuronatin) is known to be imprinted and paternally expressed in humans, mice and pigs.
Duan F et al (2015) determined the methylation status of the promoter CpG island. Bisulfite sequencing of PCR clones showed that the CpG island was unmethylated in sperm and fully methylated in MII oocytes consistent with paternal expression. In the brain of 6 month-old rabbits, where NNAT is expressed, the promoter was differentially methylated whereas in the non-expressing liver all alleles were methylated suggesting NNAT gains methylation in non-expressing tissues.
