Commd1 (COMM containing domain 1) contains the paternally expressed antisense transcript Zrsr1
within its first intron.
Commd1 is preferentially maternally expressed in adult brain and a
variety of other tissues, but not in embryonic or neonatal brains. The imprinting status of Commd1
in these tissues appears to be correlated with the antisense transcription of Zrsr1 over the
promoter region of Commd1. Human COMMD1
is not imprinted and also lacks an orthologous copy of Zrsr1 (Wang
Y. et al. 2004).
Okae H et al, (2012) provided evidence
for bialleic expression of Commd1 in E13.5 placenta.
