Atp10a (ATPase, class V, type 10A) was reported to be predominantly expressed from the maternal
allele in the hippocampus and olfactory bulb in C57BL/6J x JF1 F1 hybrid mice (Kashiwagi
A et al, 2003). However, others have reported that Atp10a is biallelically expressed in multiple
tissues including brain in PWK x C57BL/6J hybrids (Kayashima
T et al, 2003a). Kayashima et al suggest that imprinting may be strain-background dependent (Kayashima
T et al, 2003b)
Mice heterozygous for maternally inherited deletions of the Plo1 locus
(p-locus-associated obesity) have nearly double the body fat of mice who inherit a paternal
deletion. Plo1 is between Gabrb3 and Ube3a. Atp10a is a candidate gene for the increased body fat
M et al 2000).
Okae H et al, (2012) confrimed bialleic
expression of Atp10a in placenta.
