Description:

In parthenogenetic-normal chimeric mice, parthenogenetically derived cells (that is, maternally disomic for all chromosomes) contributed equally to the embryonic ectoderm at days 6.5-7.5, and to the inner cell mass up to at least 7.5 days, suggesting that these tissues do not require a paternal genome for development (Clarke HJ, Development 1988;104:175-82 PubMed). Others found the presence of parthenogenetic cells in the brain, heart, kidnay and spleen (Fundele R, Development 1989;106:29-35 PubMed).
