Detailed entry for Gene:

ARHI
NOEY2

Chromosome:

Human Chr1p31
Mouse no orthologue reported

Links:

OMIM

Imprinting:

Maternal allele repressed; paternal allele active (Yu Y et al, 1999).

Gene Product:

ARHI encodes a Ras/Rap homologue, which is a cytoplasmic protein, probably involved in cell signaling.

Functional Data:

Antiproliferative in transfected cells (Yu Y et al, 1999). Growth-retardation, both general and affecting mammary tissues, in high copy-number transgenic mice (Xu F et al, 2000). Proposed as a candidate tumor suppressor in breast and ovarian cancer based on loss of expression and mapping to a region of frequent LOH (Peng H et al, 2000).
